  • All Staff Appreciation Week is this week May 6th-10th. Join us in celebrating all of the wonderful staff here at Smythe. 
  • All progress reports cards were mailed home on friday, May 3rd. Parents please take a moment to review students grades, and contact your students teacher if you have any questions. All 7th grade returning students, must maintain a minimum 1.0 GPA on their 2nd-semester report card to continue in 8th grade at Smythe Academy Middle School.
  • Open House Thursday May 23rd. Gates Open at 5 pm. Make sure you login to rsvp and to request your meal tickets. https://bit.ly/smythe7-8

End of the Year Field Trips

  In order for students to participate in the end-of-the-year field trips and events, students must meet the following criteria:
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0 for the 4th quarter with no more than one F grade
  • No suspensions (including class suspensions) for the 4th quarter
  • No more than 15 tardies during the 4th quarter

Upcoming State testing. 
Parents/families, our Smythe students are preparing for the State testing that will begin soon. Please take a moment to review the following dates to ensure all students are here on time every day, especially during the testing season. The student incentive plan this year will reflect student's attendance, effort, and readiness.

Students will also be asked to bring a fully charged laptop and their laptop charger during testing. Please check with your child to mke sure he/she has a laptop charger. If your child does not have a charger, you may: 
  • Purchase a charger from our school library for $15.00
  • Order a charger from Amazon https://a.co/d/6MNXeRE
  • Your student may also redeem a charger using their 5 star points through our 5-star store. 
* If a student has a broken charger, they can bring that in to swap out for a new one for free.
All student Chromebooks use a USB-C 65W Chromebook Charger.

Sports/after-school activities:
  •   All after-school activities unless otherwise noted will end promptly at 4:30. Students may take the after-school bus to their drop-off locations, or parents and/or families are asked to meet students at the bus ramp no later than 4:30 pm.
  • Students wishing to attend sports events as visitors cannot take another bus route from Smythe to attend the games. Visiting students must be dropped off and picked up by an adult. Students cannot take the sports bus to go home. Lastly, please take a moment to remind your students that Smythe rules and expectations apply when our students are visiting other sites at all times.
