I agree to carry out the following responsibilities:
- Ensure that my child attends school every day on time.
- Ensure my child wears a proper uniform to school daily.
- Ensure my child knows and follows the school rules.
- Be Respectful to the school staff, students and families
- Provide a quiet time and place for homework.
- Read with my child or encourage my child to read every day. (20 minutes K-3, 30 minutes 4-8)
- Ensure that my child gets adequate sleep, regular medical attention and proper nutrition.
- Regularly monitor my child’s progress in school.
- Communicate with my child’s teacher though written correspondence, phone calls, conferences and/ or occasional home visits.
- Complete 30 hours of parent participation.

At Smythe, 7th grade parents are required to complete 30 volunteer hours in order to guarantee continued enrollment for the following school year. Please contact the front office if you have any questions regarding parent volunteer hours.

Parents, earn 1 Volunteer Hour for each gently used, outgrown school uniform item donated to our uniform clothes closet.
